The book was designed with a substantial side bar to accommodate footnotes for the illustrations. This text was set a couple of point sizes smaller, italicised and ranged ragged right to differentiate it from the main body text.

I worked for Games Workshop for 25 yrs - the final 10 yrs with publishing arm Black Library. With this department I enjoyed the best of both worlds - novel typesetting, a graphic design discipline in itself, and illustration.
